Scope was founded in 2009 by John and Tom Freyne and was able to utilise the knowledge and experience from the other Freyne companies before it.

Hylo Forte, a preservative free drop packaged in the revolutionary multi-dose COMOD bottle is launched in the UK and Ireland.

2009

The Company specialises in products to treat Ocular Surface Diseases including Dry Eye and Blepharitis. In 2012 Scope Eyecare became the market leader for Dry Eye in the UK and Ireland.

2012

The OPTASE brand is launched in the UK and Ireland with the mission of making everyday eye care accessible to everyone

2016

Hycosan range expands to include a variety of different strength drops to cater for different dry eye severities

2017

Scope is officially open for business in the US with the opening of our New York office in the middle of Manhattan.

2020

The Scope family continues to grow with over 150 employees worldwide.

Running of our first Dry Eye Patient Webinar.

Fusion Allergy, a preservative free allergy range launches in the UK and Ireland.

2021

OPTASE HYLO Night launches in the USA to bring a market leading product for severe night time dry eye patients for the first time

2022

The Scope team continues to grow with over 175 employees across 6 countries.

Scope introduces a range of preservative free multi-dose drops to re-imagine Glaucoma Care in the UK and Ireland.
